Welcome to The Charitarian Group

The Charitarian Group started with the launch of The Charitarian (Chinese) magazine in 2006. Today, it is a multifaceted Group of experts providing an authoritative voice on the development of civil society in China.

We aim to facilitate exchange of ideas, best practice and experience through our Chinese and English language magazines, consultancy & research projects, and other forums and events attended by C-suite level executives of Chinese and multinational companies, Embassy and Chinese government officials, NGOs, and other international organizations. We are constructively critical from within China, suggesting solutions, and showing the world what they do not hear or see through other traditional forms of media.

The world’s leading philanthropy magazine and Made in China, the Charitarian makes a global impact by profiling best practice in business ethics, government social responsibility, climate change, China charity and global philanthropy.

Two years ago most CEO’s would aim to be profiled on the front of business magazines and beautiful people preferred to grace the cover of Vogue. Today Bill Gates and Angelina Jolie would rather be on the cover of the Charitarian. If the eighties were about ‘making it’, the nineties were about ‘faking it’ then the nougties will be about ‘shaking it’ out of your pockets and into good causes.

The credit-crisis caused a shift away from conspicuous consumption towards competitive philanthropy. The Charitarian charts this shift, incentivises responsible business and advises on sustainable development. People purchase the Charitarian today to find solutions to the problems of tomorrow.
