Wang Liwei

Publisher/Chief Editor/Vice Mayor

Independent Chinese media entrepreneur, Wang Liwei established the Charitarian three years ago after working as the Chief Representative of a US company in Beijing/New York and a Swiss company in Germany/Beijing.  He strongly believes that philanthropy is a key element in leading a long and tranquil life.  Aside from being the CEO of the Chinese Charitarian Magazine, Mr. Wang serves as the Minister of Promotion of the World Chinese Association, he is the Honouree Deputy Mayor of Guanxian County, Shandong, and is the Board Chairman of China C Media Group.  Fluent in English and Mandarin, he holds an BSC from Beijing University and an MBA from Hawaii University and is the inspiration for the work we do at the Charitarian.

Clare Pearson

Co-Founder/ Overseas Editor

A Qualified UK lawyer born in Zambia, Clare has ten years experience of working for a major international law firm. Working as a lawyer in London, an international development manager in Hong Kong and Corporate Social Responsibility Manager in Beijing has enabled her to develop a global network of contacts. She is a regular speaker at international conferences including for the Economist, Asia Legal Business and European and American Chambers of Commerce. She currently works with the Chinese Government to help with the development of the new Guidelines for CSR in China. A friend of China, her Father was born in Hunan in 1926 and her Grandfather worked in the Province as a Doctor for thirty years.

Allison M. Johnson

Chief Operations Officer

Allison makes corporate social responsibility fun. She is a certified Conflict Mediator and studied International Conflict Resolution at the University of California, Berkeley where she wrote her Honors thesis on Race Relations in the United States. Previously working at an international law firm in Beijing, she managed the internal CSR initiatives in each of five Asia offices in the fields of community development, sustainability and climate control. A communications and events specialist, she also collected data and composed internal CSR reports for each office and ran the CSR Forums in Beijing for the firm. She currently manages the operations of the Hangzhou Office for a UK Branding company.

Janek Zdzarski (M.A)

Senior Photo Editor

Photographer and journalist from Poland and the official correspondent of Polsat News TV in China, Janek has been based here since 2006.  He has photographed and written articles for many newspapers such as USA Today, Polityka, Newsweek, Gazeta Wyborcza, Rzeczpospolita, Focus Extra Italy, Courrier Japon, Folha de S. Paulo, and many others.  In addition he has received many awards for photography (BZWBK 2007, FotoKurier, JPGMag), held private exhibitions, and taken part in an album project titled “One night in Beijing.” Recently he published a book about China.

Dominic Swire

Dominic is a reporter working for the English service of China Radio International covering current affairs, business and the environment. Prior to moving to China, Dominic was a freelance journalist based in Prague covering business and politics in East Europe for several transnational publications.

Vimbayi Kajese

China-Africa Reporter

Vimbayi is the first news correspondent of African descent for CCTV. She represents the growing relationship between China and Africa. She completed a Master’s at the China Foreign Affairs University and using her excellent social skills has been instrumental in founding the Sino-Africa networking forum. Vimbayi has advised corporate and government clients in China and Africa on crisis management and corporate communications strategies.
